PARKER COUNTY AND MORNINGSTAR DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCE AGREEMENT ON NEW COURTHOUSE ANNEX SITE

Parker County Judge Mark Riley and Precinct 4 Commissioner Steve Dugan today announced that the new Morningstar Development in East Parker County has agreed to donate land for a new courthouse annex site.
“On behalf of the citizens of Parker County, the Commissioner’s Court is pleased to accept this donation of land for the purpose of building an East Parker County Courthouse Annex. We currently lease space and this donation will allow us to put those dollars towards owning an appropriate facility,” said Judge Riley. “With the continued growth in East Parker County, this location is ideal to serve taxpayers for many years. We appreciate the generosity of the Morningstar developers and their commitment to Parker County.”
The agreement deeds 2.5 acres of land that is located on the north side of Old Weatherford Road and just east of FM 3325. The land is appraised for $739,000. And once the courthouse annex is completed, it will be adjacent to the residential Morningstar Development.
“The people of Precinct 4 are honored that Morningstar would make such a generous gift,” said Commissioner Dugan. “This donation will allow us to better serve the people of East Parker County by allowing us to build the annex in such a convenient location. We are fortunate to have partners like Morningstar doing business in Parker County.”
“From the very beginning, we at Morningstar have worked hard to be good neighbors,” said Kim Gill, President of FG Aledo which is developing Morningstar. “Not only are we the first master planned residential development in East Parker County with houses going online late spring, but we are also completely dedicated to the future of Parker County. We look forward to a long partnership with the county. And we look forward to seeing the courthouse annex completed and sitting right next to our residential development.”
